Rerun Radish
The Rerun Radish is another representative of OCD who works closely with The Whisperer in times of terror. For this reason, I situate their houses on opposite ends of Anxiety Avenue in installation. Replaying interactions I’ve had with friends, teachers, strangers, and myself, The Rerun Radish loops the same moment over and over again until I see only the faults in my actions. The Rerun Radish hyper-highlights my flaws until they aren’t based in reality, so if I listen too literally to what he tells me, I may apologize for something that didn’t actually happen. The Radish takes all of its energy from the dandelion growing next to it. The dandelion represents the time taken away from creating art while I am stewing over minor or even nonexistent mistakes. While some of the things he chooses to rerun didn’t even happen, and most are montages of trivial mistakes, this parasitic vegetable reminds me to always be respectful in how I carry myself and aware of how I relate to others.
